Festive treat – Roasted Pecans

Hi guys, hope you’re all having an amazing Christmas!
Although the table is usually full during Christmas time, I have found a great place for these treats as a nice, festive snack. If you like cinnamon and nuts, which are indeed what provides the festive flavour here, then you are in for a treat. They are tasty, easy to make and satisfy a lot of tastebuds. The initial recipe I used was found on Pinterest although, I slightly modified it with every time. Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
You will need:
  • 2 cups of pecan nuts
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 a cup of sugar – preferably brown
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • a pinch of salt
  1. Firstly, set your oven to 150 degrees celsius.
  2. beat the egg whites with salt until they create a foamy texture.
  3. Dip your pecan in the egg white making sure they are covered evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl mix together the sugar and cinnamon and then add the dry ingredients to the pecans, again making sure they are all covered evenly.
  5. Use a baking sheet to line a baking tray and put on the pecans spreading them evenly on the tray.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring them every 15 minutes.
